What is Love Your Block?
Pottstown Community Action is awarding mini-grants for neighborhood beautification projects that remove blight, improve quality of life, and foster community engagement. Improving our neighborhoods Block by Block.
Love Your Block Pottstown is funded by the Pottstown Health and Wellness Foundation and supported by community partners TriCounty Community Network, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties, Genesis Housing Corp., and Hobart's Run.
Love Your Block Pottstown has received consultation support from Cities of Services and is modeled after their long running, Love Your Block national initiative.
Who Can Apply For A Mini-Grant?
Any resident of Pottstown. Applications must include the contact information of the project leader (co-project leader is optional). You will need a minimum of four participants, including the project leader(s). 50% or more of your project’s volunteer participants must be residents of Pottstown
How Much Money Will Be Given For My Team’s Project?
Mini-grants range from $250 to $1,500, depending on the scope of the project.
Can You Give Me Some Examples of Projects That Should Be Submitted?
Small Scale Building Repairs (ex Porch / Fence Repair, General Painting)
Open Space Revitalization (ex Community Gardens, Murals, Weeding/Trimming Overgrown Vegetation, Improving Playgrounds )
Neighborhood Clean Up (ex Bulk Item Removal and Sidewalk/Open Space Clean Up)
Improvements to Neighborhood Safety (ex Porch Lights and Cameras)
Can You Give Me Some Examples of Projects That Would NOT Be Accepted?
Projects that benefit the project leader’s personal property only For example, you cannot apply to do porch repairs for your own home only. Projects must benefit multiple homes, a block, or a neighborhood.
I’m Interested! How Do I Apply?
Completed applications must be submitted by midnight on April 30th, 2022 or sooner.
If you’re not sure how to fill out parts of the application, give the best answer that you can provide.
A COMPLETE application includes:
Your Project Application Form (Paper or Electronic Submission)
Project Budget
**In the event that your project requires a maintenance plan (see last question on application), please submit any letters of support from neighborhood allies (ex church, small business)**
**Please Note - If your project is awarded a mini-grant, you will be required to submit Property Release Forms/Waivers signed by ALL PROPERTY OWNERS, where work is taking place, to show that your team has the right to work on the property**
I am Applying Online Using the Google Form Button Above. How Do I Submit My Budget?
Open the “Applicant Budget Template” using the button below and download it to your desktop.
Complete the form to the best of your ability. This should be completed by the Project Leader(s)
Save the file to your computer as “PROJECT LEADER NAME_LYB ESTIMATED BUDGET”
(for example: TOM FORD_LYB ESTIMATED BUDGET)
Upload the file to the Electronic Form in Section Three “Estimated Labor”
